Department Society

The Department of Economics Society/ Association hosts lectures, seminars and panel discussions by eminent economists and other personalities. Over the past few years many eminent economists like Professor Manoj Pant (JNU), Professor T.C. Anant (DSE), Professor Arun Kumar, Professor Donald Williams and eminent politicians like Mr. Yashwant Sinha have visited to the college to enlighten students. The annual event of our society ‘Econclave’ is well attended by participants from different colleges.

The students have also made their presence felt on social media through our e-journal ‘Ecognizance’ launched in 2014. The photography society of the department ‘Strobe’ holds regular exhibitions which are widely acclaimed. The Department also have a dance group ‘Steppers’ which has made waves with their performances. In addition to these, various other societies like ‘The Round Table Society’, ‘Academic Research Paper Club’ and ‘Consulting Club’ to organize debates discussions and paper presentations. A recent initiative is ‘The D-Street Club’ which focuses on stock market. We also have an ‘Alumni Committee’ to generate data base of our alumni.
