PHYSICS SOCIETY ‘COSMOS’

The Department has a very active Physics Society named ‘COSMOS”, wherein several Seminars, Workshops and Interactive Lectures have been organized on topics like Quantum Optics, Photonics, Quantum Gravity, Cosmology etc. Several eminent professors and scientists like Prof. Ajoy K. Ghatak, Prof. K. Thyagarajan of IIT Delhi, Prof. Patrick Dasgupta, Prof. K. Sreenivas from University of Delhi and Prof. Anirban Pathak (Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, NOIDA), Prof. Kedar Singh (SPS, JNU New Delhi), Dr. K. Sridhar (TIFR) , Dr. Anindita Banerjee (Bose Institute, Kolkata), Dr. S.T. Lakshmikumar (NPL, New Delhi), Dr. Shibu Saha (NPL, New Delhi) have visited and actively interacted with our students to impart knowledge. The students actively participate and work hard with the teachers to make these events successful. Students of our college participated in Power point presentation competitions wherein they spoke on various important and relevant topics in Physics like Entropy, General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Cosmology, etc. They also participated in the Physics Poster Making Competition which was also organized on the same day. Winners and all participants were given prizes.
