ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF URDU

The Department of Urdu, Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi was started in 1959, Urdu Language has been taught in B.A. (Prog.) since the beginning. B.A. (HONS.) Urdu Course has started in 2017 under CBCS Programme. B.A. Program course includes Urdu as a Discipline and also Modern Indian Language in the syllabus. Department of Urdu offered Generic Elective Course (GE) for B.A.(Hons.) other than Urdu (Hons.) students. Skill Enhancement Course (SEC), Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) and Value Addition Course (VAC) also offered in addition to HONS course in Urdu. The Department of Urdu has been functioning with distinguished faculty members from renowned universities.
